This Privacy Policy describes how CanadaWaterDamage247("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards personal information from homeowners using our water damage restoration referral service in Canada. We comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and applicable provincial privacy laws including the British Columbia Personal Information Protection Act (BC PIPA) and the Alberta Personal Information Protection Act (AB PIPA).

Service not available in Quebec. CanadaWaterDamage247 does not currently serve residents of Quebec. Quebec residents should contact a local water damage contractor directly.

Information we collect

When you submit a request through our website or call a number displayed on our site, we may collect the following personal information:

We do notcollect: Social Insurance Numbers, financial account information, health data, government-issued IDs, or any data category designated "sensitive" under PIPEDA without explicit additional consent.

  • To facilitate communication between you and the matched contractor

  • To comply with legal obligations (record retention, regulatory inquiries, court orders)

We do not use your personal information for any purpose beyond those identified above without obtaining your express consent.

By submitting a request through our website or calling a phone number we display, you provide express consent to be contacted by CanadaWaterDamage247 and the independent restoration contractor we match you with, by phone, email, or SMS, for the purposes identified in this policy.

You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing privacy@canadawaterdamage247.com or by visiting our opt-out section. Withdrawal of consent may affect our ability to provide the referral service to you.

British Columbia and Alberta residents

  • Independent licensed restoration contractors in your geographic area, for the purpose of contacting you about your request. We share only the information you submitted.
  • Service providers who assist us with website operations, analytics, fraud prevention, and email/SMS delivery. These providers are bound by confidentiality and use the information only to provide services to us.
  • Government or regulatory authorities when required by law, court order, or to respond to lawful requests from public authorities.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your information with advertisers or marketing platforms beyond the contractor referral purpose.

Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. These include encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and audit logging. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

  • Register your phone number with the CRTC National Do Not Call List (lnnte-dncl.gc.ca)

We will process unsubscribe requests within 10 business days as required by CASL.

Cookies and analytics

We use only essential cookies required for the website to function. We do not currently use third-party tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or cross-site tracking. If we add analytics tools in the future, we will update this policy and provide a clear cookie consent banner before any non-essential cookies are set.

Children

CanadaWaterDamage247 is not directed to children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us immediately and we will delete it.
